A New Season; A New Beginning!
December 28, 2007, Pastor Rick

At this time of the year, it's natural to consider "where you are" presently, and "where you desire to be" in another year. It's a time of reflecting and a time of looking forward (dreaming of the future). I want to encourage you to take some time over the next few days, as the New Year approaches, and ask the Holy Spirit to speak to your heart about "things to come" Jesus tells us (Jn 16:13) that not only would the Holy Spirit lead us and guide us into all truth, but that He would also reveal to us those things to come.

Prayerfully ask the Holy Spirit to give you this revelation. The term "revelation" refers to God's self-disclosure to men and women. It is translated from a Greek word that means the drawing back a veil to reveal hidden things. It is knowledge and insight that comes to us from outside ourselves and is beyond our own ability to discover.

"But when He, the Spirit of truth, comes, He will guide you into all the truth; for He will not speak on His own initiative, but whatever He hears, He will speak; and He wil disclose to you what is to come. He will glorify Me, for He will take of Mine and will disclose it to you. All things that the Father has are Mine; therefore I said that He takes of Mine and will disclose it to you" .......... John 16:13-15

We must respond to His Word as Mary responded; "Be it unto me, according to Your Word." We must also have the same attitude that Mary lived by; "Whatever He tells you to do, do it." These attitudes of faith will cause us to not only become impregnated with His Word, but also will keep us from miscarrying, and our faith becoming shipwrecked.

Six (6) is the number of man; Seven (7) is the number of completion; and Eight (8) is the number of new beginnings. I believe that '08 will be a year of new beginnings for all of us individually and corporately as Freedom Gate Church!!

Now, we must prepare our heart for a new beginning. We cannot live in our past; we must press on to what lies ahead for us, in Jesus. "Brethren, I do not regard myself as having laid hold of it yet, but one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and reaching forward to what lies ahead...." Philippians 3:13

Let's not settle for things the way they currently are... for we haven't laid hold of it yet! The restoration of all things is coming!! Be encouraged, the best is yet to come, in Jesus' name!!
